Michael Lürßen has over forty years of professional experience in banking and has specialized in financial and succession planning over the past fifteen years. During this time, the establishment or involvement in foundations has been a recurring part of advising his clients.

Driven by his interest in the non-profit sector, Michael Lürßen has taken on responsibilities in several foundations, including serving as the board member of the Bernd Artin Wessel Cancer Foundation in Bremen. Additionally, he has conceived, established, and managed multiple trust foundations both during his lifetime and for estate cases over many years. His primary focus is always the proper implementation of the founders’ wishes and translating them into effective funding projects.

Beyond his advisory work, Michael Lürßen has built a network of specialized lawyers and tax advisors and served for four years as a board member of Stiftungshaus Bremen e. V. Subject-specific studies in foundation management, financial and succession planning, and executor services complement his practical experience and form the basis for well-founded support of the foundations managed by StiftungsHafen.

Dirk Bengen

Dirk Bengen is the Managing Director of StiftungsHafen Treuhandgesellschaft mbH and has been active in the financial sector for more than two decades. After 26 years in various banks, including in foundation advisory, he has specialized as an independent financial and succession planner and foundation manager, focusing on the structured support of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurial families, and founders.

Based on his studies in financial economics and his qualification as a certified inheritance and foundation manager (CFEP), Dirk Bengen combines financial, legal, and tax perspectives into viable solutions. A key focus is the development and implementation of foundation models within succession planning. He understands the challenges that founders face and places particular emphasis on structuring assets so that they can have a long-term, socially beneficial impact.

Responsibility, transparency, and long-term thinking define his work. Dirk Bengen sees foundations as instruments for sustainable social engagement — with clear structures, reliable management, and communication that builds trust and endures across generations.

Jörg Grotheer is the Managing Director of StiftungsHafen Treuhandgesellschaft mbH and a certified banking specialist with many years of experience in the private banking sector. In various banks, he advised high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurial families, specializing in structured asset management. Since 2019, he has worked as an asset manager, overseeing securities and specialized mandates — increasingly with a focus on the requirements of non-profit foundations.

At StiftungsHafen, Jörg Grotheer brings his capital market and structural expertise. He ensures that investment guidelines, risk profiles, and maturities align with the purpose, statutes, and time horizon of each foundation. In collaboration with banks, asset managers, and tax advisors, he ensures that investment decisions are documented transparently and made within the legal framework for non-profit organizations.

Reliability, transparency, and careful risk management define his approach.
